Why is it the Tahoe and Suburban with Chevy but just Yukon and Yukon XL for GMC and Escalade and Escalade ESV for Cadillac?
You’d think GM of all companies would have jumped on more names.

Because Suburban is the longest continuously running nameplate in history, whereas Tahoe , Yukon and Escalade were born in the 90’s

Oh no, Chevy is the only one doing it right. The Yukon and Escalade need a partner nameplate too

Yukon XL should become the Grand Teton
Escalade ESV should become the Escalade Bastille

I assume because the Escalade and Yukon names are valuable and people would be less likely to shell out for a non-Escalade Cadillac? Meanwhile the Suburban has a connotation being a huge family hauler/tow machine , so might turn away buyers if Chevy called the Tahoe a Suburban.

How do I add images in replies? ffs
Anyway, in Brazil we had the Chevrolet Bonanza and Veraneio. Bonanza was a 2-door Tahoe, and Veraneio was a suburban (after 87 I think)

I agree. You can't take the Escalade name off, it won't sell
